  • Go to intune.microsoft.com
  • Click on Devices
  • Click on Windows
  • Click on Configuration profiles
  • Click on Create
  • Click on New Policy
  • Platform: Windows 10 and later
  • Profile type: Settings catalog
  • Click on Create

Give it a meaningful name and description. Click on Next.

On the Configuration settings tab do the following:

  • Click on Add settings
  • Search for Chat icon
  • Choose Experience
  • Click on Configure Chat Icon
  • On the left site Disable Configure Chat Icon

  • 0 – Not Configured: The Chat icon follows the default configuration for your Windows edition.
  • 1 – Show: The Chat icon appears on the taskbar by default. You can show or hide it in Settings.

  • 3 – Disabled: The Chat icon doesn’t appear on the taskbar. Settings are not available to show or hide the icon.

After you have set your settings, you can go ahaid and click on Next.

  • Define your Scope if applicable and click on Next
  • On the Assignments tab assign the Policy to a Group or to All Users / All Devices
  • And Review + Create the Policy
